God’s Love

A ship was once caught in a terrible storm. The captain’s wife, sitting in the nearby cabin was greatly alarmed. “My dear, how can you be so calm in such a storm?” she cried out. The captain rose from his chair which was lashed to the deck and drew his sword. Pointing it to his wife’s throat he asked “aren’t you afraid?” “Of course not!” she exclaimed. “Why?” asked her husband. “Because I know the sword is in the hand of one who loves me!” “Then remember, I know in whom I have believed! He holds the winds in His fist and the waters in the hollow of His hand!” Her husband smiled with assurance.
